Sunday, June 16, 6 p.m., WKOW (ABC) - "Toy Story" (1995). Toys come to life when humans aren't looking in this animated fantasy about the rivalry between a cowboy doll (voiced by Tom Hanks) and a flashy plastic spaceman (voiced by Tim Allen) whose subsequent misadventures teach them a lesson in friendship. Director John Lasseter makes good use of computer animation in a slim but imaginative tale featuring the frantic antics of mischievous playthings, though little ones may be frightened by some scenes of a nasty child who enjoys destroying toys. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-I - general patronage. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was G - general audiences.

Sunday, June 16, 8 p.m., Travel (cable) - "American Icons: West Point." Special visiting America's first military academy on New York's Hudson River as it celebrates its bicentennial and looks back on illustrious graduates.

A young doctor (Jeff Daniels) with an avid fear of spiders (arachnophobia) is put to the ultimate test when he relocates his family to a small town unaware that a deadly new species is rapidly reproducing in his barn. Despite one glaring inconsistency in the plot, director Frank Marshall has crafted a deliciously menacing thriller whose moody cinematography and precise editing steadily build the suspense. Some graphic shots of dead bodies. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-II - adults and adolescents. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was PG-13 - parents are strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
