MADISON -- A lifelong parishioner of St. Raphael's Cathedral, Jane E. Martin died August 22. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 50 years. Martin served as Regent of the Madison Chapter five years. She also served on the Board of the Wisconsin Council of Catholic Women, as well as being an active member of many other organizations including the St. Raphael Alter Society and an associate of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary.

Martin was a devoted daughter, caring for her mother for many years before her death in 1981. She was a loving aunt and cousin who had a keen interest in her extended family. Martin will be remembered as a kind, generous woman who loved and served God and her neighbor.

A Mass of Christian burial was held August 27 at St. Patrick Church with Msgr. Kevin Holmes, Msgr. Douglas Dushack, and Fr. Frances Steffen concelebrating. A visitation was held at the church before Mass, and graveside services followed at Resurrection Cemetery.
