Cedarburg: Native Fiber Exhibit ( All Day )

Native Fiber at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA) brings together an array of work by contemporary Native American fiber artists from throughout the Great Lakes. The exhibition features an expansive definition of fiber art, from quillwork to cordage, bead work, weaving, birch biting, leatherwork, and quilting. Illuminating the ways Native American artists explore and alter extraordinary materials, the exhibition comprises the work of 26 artists and one artist guild, representing 17 tribal nations. Native Fiber will be on view at WMQFA from January 17 through April 28. WMQFA is located at N50 W5050 Portland Rd., just east of historic downtown Cedarburg. Sinsinawa Art Gallery will feature "Best in Glass: Students and Teacher Collaborate" from February 6 through March 31, with work by glass artist Barb McKinlay and 16 of her students. McKinlay regularly teaches art glass classes at Sinsinawa Mound Center and will showcase some of her students' bowls. McKinlay's work includes wall hangings from her FACES collection as well as several collections of her tabletop pieces. Edgewood Chamber Orchestra Concert ( 2:30 pm )

Edgewood Chamber Orchestra will present a concert on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 2:30 p.m., in St. Joseph Chapel, 1000 Edgewood College Dr., Madison. The orchestra, conducted by Blake Walter, will perform works including Arriaga's Los Esclavos Felices Overture, Symphony No. 27 by Mozart and the first movement of the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3, featuring pianist Dominic Mailloux. Dominic Mailloux is a homeschooled high school junior from Mineral Point. He began his piano study at age eight with Grace Schaaf of Mineral Point and has been studying with Beatriz Aguilar, professor in music at Edgewood College, for the past three years. Dominic has been a state-level solo and ensemble participant for four consecutive years and has twice received exemplary performance honors at the state level. He is an organist at St. Philomena Church in Belmont, and is a substitute organist for several parishes in southwest Wisconsin. He frequently is engaged as an accompanist, and serves as a volunteer performer at regional nursing homes. Dominic also enjoys ensemble work as a member of the Belmont High School Jazz Ensemble. Tickets are $5 general admission, and free with an Edgewood College ID.




Berlin: Bingo ( 5:00 pm )

All Saints Parish hosts bingo in the church, N8566 State Rd. 49, on Sundays during the school year except on major holidays. Bingo is sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women and Knights of Columbus. Doors open at 5 p.m., and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Sandwiches, desserts, and soft drinks are available.

Knights of Columbus Council 4879 hosts bingo every Monday night, except on major holidays, at The Round Table, 1611 N. Bristol St. Doors open at 4:15 p.m. Food is served from 4:30 through intermission. Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. with second set beginning at 7:30 p.m. Progressive game begins about 8:30 p.m.
