Cedarburg: Native Fiber Exhibit ( All Day )

Native Fiber at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA) brings together an array of work by contemporary Native American fiber artists from throughout the Great Lakes. The exhibition features an expansive definition of fiber art, from quillwork to cordage, bead work, weaving, birch biting, leatherwork, and quilting. Illuminating the ways Native American artists explore and alter extraordinary materials, the exhibition comprises the work of 26 artists and one artist guild, representing 17 tribal nations. Native Fiber will be on view at WMQFA from January 17 through April 28. WMQFA is located at N50 W5050 Portland Rd., just east of historic downtown Cedarburg. Sinsinawa Art Gallery exhibition of Helen Reznicek's  "Falling Away/Moving Ahead," will be featured from April 4 to June 2. Reznicek is a printmaker whose work is personal and expressive, and the motion of creating the images is often evident in her pieces. Her current work is done in a combination of monotype and relief prints, focusing on the subtractive nature of these methods. Reznicek has had artistic endeavors throughout the United States, Mexico, and Italy.  Her works are also in private collections. Sinsinawa: Painting Class ( 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm )

A painting class will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Sinsinawa Mound.
Sarah Barnes, artist and owner of Create It Art Studio in Dubuque, will guide participants in painting a sunflower bouquet.
People of all skill levels are welcome to attend; materials will be provided.
Registration deadline is April 18, and the fee is $35.

A Polka Fest and Expo will be held at Chula Vista Resort, 2501 River Rd., Wisconsin Dells, the weekend of April 26-28. Hours for the family fun event are: Friday, April 26, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, April 27, from 12 noon to 1 a.m.; and Sunday, April 28, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 5 p.m. The event will also include polka dancing lessons, with many bands performing. Admission is $20 on Friday and Saturday, $15 on Sunday, and $45 for a weekend pass. Children under 16 are free with a guardian. Family farms and land transition are the subject of a workshop and play, Map of My Kingdom, to be held at Sinsinawa Mound on Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m.
Who's going to get the farm? What are they going to do with it? Will future plans for the land create harmony or strife for the family? Or have you even started to think that far ahead? Map of My Kingdom, a play commissioned by Practical Farmers of Iowa and written by Iowa's Poet Laureate Mary Swander, tackles the critical issue of land transition. Following the 60-minute performance, there will be a 20-minute talkback followed by a two-hour workshop. The fee is $15 if registered by Saturday, April 20, or $25 at the door. McFarland: Breakfast ( 8:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

Christ the King Parish will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Christ the King Parish hall, 5306 Main St. It will feature pancakes and sausage. There will also be a bake sale. Proceeds will be donated to the Men’s Club Charities Fund.

Theater Bus April Trips ( All Day )

The Theater Bus for persons 55 and over will be traveling to the following event in April:

Holy Ghost Parish will hold a breakfast on Sunday, April 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the Dickeyville Campus School gym, 325 W. Main St. It will feature sausage, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. Proceeds go to the Holy Ghost Decorating and Repair Fund.




Berlin: Bingo ( 5:00 pm )

All Saints Parish hosts bingo in the church, N8566 State Rd. 49, on Sundays during the school year except on major holidays. Bingo is sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women and Knights of Columbus. Doors open at 5 p.m., and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Sandwiches, desserts, and soft drinks are available.

Knights of Columbus Council 4879 hosts bingo every Monday night, except on major holidays, at The Round Table, 1611 N.
