Volunteering At The Beacon ( 9:00 am )

Volunteering at The Beacon, the homeless day resource center in Madison.
Who? The Beacon is looking for individuals who would like to make a difference in the daily lives of individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
What? Attend a volunteer orientation to learn how you can volunteer to help ensure that people’s basic needs are met. Catholic Charities needs volunteers 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a variety of roles. Shifts are from two and a half to four hours long and can be on a regular schedule or as your schedule allows.
When? Volunteer orientation is on Fridays at 9 a.m. for just over one hour, including a tour. There is also an orientation on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m.
Where? The Beacon, 615 E. Washington Ave. in Madison

Montello: Fish Fry ( 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm )

St. John the Baptist Parish will hold a fish fry on Friday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. Baked and deep-fried cod will be featured.

Barneveld: Souper-Bowl Of Soups Supper ( 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm )

The Immaculate Conception Altar Society will sponsor a Souper-Bowl of Soups Supper on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Barneveld American Legion Hall, 102 Wood St., with serving from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (carryouts available). Enjoy all-you-can-eat soup and chili served in a fresh bread bowl, topped off with shredded cheese and sour cream toppings. A homemade dessert bar will also be featured. The night will include a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the Camp Gray Scholarship Fund.

Knights of Columbus Council 605 will hold its annual Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 939 Liberty Ave. Snacks and social hour begin at 6 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 7 p.m. and raffle drawing at 8 p.m. Raffle proceeds will benefit the Knights' scholarship fund. Carryouts, a cash bar, and other raffles will be available. Dinner and raffle tickets are available from any council member or by calling Grand Knight Paul Klespis-Wick at 608-290-5382. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Fitchburg: Breakfast ( 8:00 am - 11:30 am )

Knights of Columbus Council 4527 will sponsor a breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Catholic Multicultural Center, 5256 Verona Rd. (enter off Anton Dr.). It will feature an expanded buffet including scrambled eggs, ham, French toast, and corned beef hash. Proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Youth Service Council Scholarship Fund.




Lodi: Pancake Breakfast ( 8:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus Council 6463 is hosting its annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon at the parish hall, 521 Fair St., Lodi. It will feature hash browns, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Proceeds will benefit Blessed Trinity School in Dane.




Waunakee: Breakfast ( 8:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

Knights of Columbus Council 6371 will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 26, at St. John School, 113 E. 3rd St., from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. It will feature blueberry and regular pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and ham. This starts Catholic Schools Week with an open house after the breakfast.




Madison: Dinner ( 11:30 am - 4:00 pm )

The St. James Athletic and Home & School Associations will sponsor the annual Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. James School, 1204 St. James Ct. All-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and bread will be featured. Gluten-free available upon request. Soda, beer, wine, and desserts and carryouts available.




Berlin: Bingo ( 5:00 pm )

Bingo is played every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at All Saints Church, N8566 State Rd. 49. Doors open at 5 p.m. with lunch available for purchase. Bingo is sponsored by All Saints Council of Catholic Women and the Knights of Columbus council.

Knights of Columbus Council 4879 hosts bingo every Monday night, except on major holidays, at The Round Table, 1611 N. Bristol St. Doors open at 4:15 p.m. Food is served from 4:30 through intermission. Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. with second set beginning at 7:30 p.m. Progressive game begins about 8:30 p.m.

St. Mary of the Lake will hold its first bingo night for 2020 on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for refreshments. Bingo begins at 7 p.m. There will be prizes and a 50-50 raffle.
