Prayer for Vocations
Editor's note: In lieu of his column this week, Bishop William H. Bullock encourages people in the Diocese of Madison to pray for vocations in preparation for National Vocation Awareness Week, Jan 12-17. Following is a suggested prayer written by the bishop. He will resume his column in next week's paper.
Prayer for Vocations
Lord God and Father, we the people of the Madison Diocese come before you and ask that you touch the hearts and minds of young men to serve as priests. Move them by your grace, inspire them by your power, and enliven a spirit of sacrifice in them that will lead them to abandon their secular pursuits and as priests follow your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
Give us, O Loving God, an increase in vocations to priesthood and religious life. We pray always through Christ our Lord. Amen.
